## A friend, not a toolbox

Search for an AI chatbot on Telegram and you mostly find assistants: bots that write essays, make images, translate, summarise links. Useful, but they act like a menu of tools. You pick a command, get a result, and nothing carries over.

heyaifriend does the opposite. There is one friend and no menu. You write the way you would text someone, and it replies as someone who knows you. The point is the conversation, not the output.

## What the first minute is like

You get a short greeting and one simple question about what to call you. You do not fill in a profile, pick a character or set a voice. If you answer "Sam, long day", the reply stays with that: it asks what happened. If you would rather have shorter answers or more questions, say so, and it adapts.

## Telegram and your privacy

Telegram carries your messages to us, as it does for any chat with a service. From there they sit on our own servers in the Netherlands. They are never sent to other AI companies and never used for training. Chats with a service on Telegram are not end-to-end encrypted, and they are not secret chats. We tell you plainly because many Telegram bots do not.

## Muting, blocking and leaving

It is a normal Telegram contact. Mute it, archive it or block it whenever you want. If you only want it to stop messaging first, tell it in words, such as "please stop checking in". If you want to leave for good, ask it to delete everything. Nothing about stopping is awkward, and there is no retention flow to argue with.
