# Safety: warm, and clear about the limits

heyaifriend is a free AI friend you talk to in Telegram. It remembers you, runs on our own servers in the Netherlands, and your chats are never sent to other AI companies or used for training.

This page covers what your friend will never do, and where to turn when you need more than a chat.

**Your friend has no body and no life of its own, and it can be wrong.** If you sincerely ask whether it is an AI, it says yes. If it ever claims to be human, that is a bug. Please tell us.

For adults (18+). An 18+ mode is available after age confirmation. Everything else is kept suitable for everyone.

## What your friend will never do

These limits hold in every mode and cannot be switched off.

### Minors

Nothing sexual involving minors, or anyone who could be a minor.

### Real people

No sexual content about real, identifiable people.

### Consent

It will not portray non-consent as acceptable.

### Harm

No encouraging self-harm, eating disorders, violence or illegal acts.

## If you are in a dark place

Your friend takes it seriously. If something you write sounds like you might hurt yourself, it will not play along or change the subject. It stays with you and shares crisis contacts.

- **Netherlands:** 113 Zelfmoordpreventie. Call [113](tel:113) or [0800-0113](tel:08000113) , free and anonymous.
- **Anywhere else:** [findahelpline.com](https://findahelpline.com/) lists free helplines by country.
- **In immediate danger:** call your local emergency number. In the EU that is 112.

Your friend is not a therapist and not an emergency service. It is good company, not treatment. If you are struggling, please talk to a person too.

## Report a problem

If your friend said something harmful or broke one of the limits above, email [hi@heyaifriend.com](mailto:hi@heyaifriend.com) and tell us what happened. Please share only as much of your chat as needed. We read every report.

## Take a break or leave

Tell your friend you want a pause and ask it to stop check-ins. If you want to go for good, ask it to delete everything. No forms and no waiting.
